Meet Our Therapists

Jes Short-Slack,LMSW, LMT
Owner | Mental Health Therapist | Massage Therapist | Reiki Practitioner | Meditation Guide | Wellness Coach
Hello beautiful soul!
I am Jes – vigilante therapist, healing guide, collector of stories, human library, accumulator of tools, holder of space, conscious creator, and mindful participant and lover of life.
I started my journey in the mental health field in 2012 working as a therapist, providing individual therapy, and facilitating group skills classes through community mental health organizations. I worked with families and adults to guide them through a variety of issues including mood disorders, anxiety disorders, trauma disorders, emotional and behavioral struggles, and general life stressors. These experiences gifted me a variety of strategies, coping skills, and evidence-based practices to fill my toolbox so that I could offer my clients well-rounded mental health care.
In 2018, I attended a women’s retreat that I describe as my “Midlife Enlightenment”. It was here that I had a brutal, yet necessary unraveling of all my outdated and embedded narratives about myself and my work. I finally understood what it meant to step out of an identity that was built around external expectations, and live a life that felt like Home to me. I unlearned a lot of things and learned even more, gaining immense personal and professional clarity. I realized that looking at mental health alone is not the whole picture of wellness, as it left a lot out of the healing process. I have since collected a variety of tools, modalities, and resources, including massage therapy, Reiki, Acudetox, and yoga, in an effort to focus on moving toward holistic healing and enhancing the mind-body connection.
I work in a heavy foundation of existing courageously in raw authenticity, and practicing radical self-care. My goal for every person I work with is not just to cultivate a life that you don’t want to escape from, but one that you feel enthusiastic about participating in fully. One where you know yourself, understand yourself, love yourself, and exist as your *favorite* version of yourself... Note that I did not say the "best" version, as no one can be their best self every day. Rather, our "favorite" version is the version that allows for rest, compassion, fallibility, the courage to make mistakes, the grace to be in hardship, the compassion to know that they are worthy- without having to be their "best" all the time.
You are worthy of healing and growing all of the parts of yourself. You are worthy of coming home to yourself. You are worthy of love and belonging. You are capable of existing in your most authentic light. You deserve to build a life that you are in love with. I am here to support and guide you while you step into your light and cultivate your truest, most beautiful life – a life of wellness and harmony, a life that you want to participate fully in, and a life that you don’t feel the need to escape from.
If you are ready to start your journey, I look forward to walking alongside you on your way to coming home to yourself. <3
